Patient Services Representatives are the primary contacts between PracticeMax and our clients' patients. This position receives and returns inbound calls from patients and explains statements and charges to them, as well as receiving payments on which they receive commission. |
| Duties: | - Handle or escalate (as necessary) patient inquiries and problems
- Endeavor to collect balances over the phone (via credit card or other acceptable forms of payment)
- Answer inbound calls from patients regarding statement balances
- Place outbound calls, as directed, to patients regarding self-pay balances
- Review account balances for collection agency assignment
- Ensure all telephone/accounts receivable procedures are followed
- Document all actions/interactions (in computer system)
- Interface with Medical Billers to understand and resolve collection issues
- Participate in professional development as required
- Maintain strictest confidence of Company, Client, and Patient Information
- Perform other duties as assigned

| Qualifications: | Requires the following:
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience (previous collection or medical billing experience is helpful)
- Basic understanding of medical billing or collections
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills (professional and courteous)
- Typing at 40 wpm and basic computer operation knowledge
- Willing to learn and use multiple software systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy, including basic math ability
- Basic problem solving and decision making skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Bilingual skills a plus
