Description:The Account Representative position ensures maximum reimbursement by directing the timely billing and collection for physician services. This is a functional team lead position serving as the primary point of contact between clients and PracticeMax and directing billing functions for clients. Responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily functions of Team members, and serves as liaison between Team and Administration. This is a mid-level billing position.

Duties:Duties:
•Interacts with Senior Administration to plan short and long term client and team member specific goals.
•Reviews monthly, Team specific client Accounts Receivables with Revenue Cycle Manager and works with Administration to develop appropriate action steps for problem areas.
•Ensures Team/Client specific monthly collections goals are maintained and appropriate.
•Oversees all billing and collection activities for Team; ensuring all billing and payment posting is completed within the 48 hour time frame.
•Organizes and delegates special projects as requested.
•Researches and solves difficult charge and payment related questions.
•Coordinates End-of-Month Closing with Revenue Cycle Manager
•Ensures staffing needs are being met.
•Supervises the activities of collection of delinquent accounts.
•Attends client meetings as requested.
•Participates in software vendor Webinars and communicates with Team members any software updates or changes.
•Performs system and billing resolution requiring independent judgment.
•Assists and orients new and existing Team members with training of software, hardware, and client specific billing requirements.
•Perform random batch audits on each staff member, at least one batch per week, per team member.
•Documents and reports batch audit findings to Team member and works to resolve errors.
•Documents and reports all batch audit findings to Compliance Officer on a weekly basis.
•Assist Senior Administration in establishing policies and procedures specific to Team.
•Participates in educational programs to stay abreast of regulatory changes.
•Ensure Team maintains knowledge of and complies with established policies and procedures.
•Ensure Team meets all HIPAA and Compliance Regulations.
•Enters charges and payments as needed.
•Interacts with other Team Coordinators to ensure smooth operational workflow throughout the office.
•Daily sitting and usage of computer terminal 90% of time.
•Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
•College experience – Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent years of experience in account receivable management.
•Minimum three years in healthcare billing and receiveables.
•Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations in billing and receivables reimbursement.
•Supervisory Experience.
•Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
•Ability to work under pressure.
•Ability to interact verbally and in writing with all customers on a daily basis in an effective manner.
•Ability to defuse/handle irate customers.
•Team player with attitude conducive to working within a team environment.
